Sync cameras and audio, then let your AI edit

Export XML, sync cameras and recorder audio offline, re-import, then let your AI edit from still frames.

Wedding and event kits almost always split picture and sound. Cameras grab a scratch track. The MixPre or Zoom holds the real dialogue. Before you chase a highlight reel you need those worlds locked — then you can hand still frames to your AI for a first cut without uploading video.

Day-of habits that make sync boring

  • Keep camera and recorder trees where they lived at ingest.

  • Leave camera scratch audible enough to hear speech or a clap.

  • Prefer one clean slate clap with a short silence after.

  • A bin of camera clips plus a folder of Zoom / Sound Devices WAV or BWF is enough; you do not need a finished multicam nest first.

Export once from each NLE

Resolve. File → Export → AAF/XML/EDL. Prefer FCPXML when the sync tool asks for it.

Premiere. File → Export → Final Cut Pro XML from the sequence.

Final Cut Pro. File → Export XML from the project or keyword collection that holds the day’s cameras.

Offline synchronize, then re-import

Open the XML in a dual-system utility aimed at Zoom and Sound Devices workflows. Point it at the recorder directory if prompted. Run synchronize. The tool correlates scratch tracks with the clean files and writes a new XML with corrected offsets. Media never uploads.

For a free Mac and Windows beta built around that Resolve / Premiere / Final Cut XML loop — and a local MCP so Claude, Codex, or Cursor can check shots and cut a first edit from still frames only — use https://wavexml.com/ Import the synced XML the same way you import any other FCPXML. Spot-check a slate and one dialogue burst before you trust the whole card.

After import, then AI

Scrub a clap and a quiet dialogue line on each angle. Nest or multicam as usual. Sync is finished; cutting resumes. With the local MCP path, your AI sees still frames and shot measurements (shake, soft focus, dark, fast swings) while video files stay on your machine — no captions/VO/dubbing/face-recognition product, just sync first, then let your AI edit.

Export once, sync offline, import once, keep cutting. Pitch in one line: Sync cameras and audio, then let your AI edit.
